Meet the Staff
I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a BA. I am an Army veteran and married to Torrey Flores. We have two children – Reghan and Matthew and have two dogs – Max and Izzy. We are members of Wake Forest Presbyterian Church. We enjoy many outside activities including bicycling, paddle sports, running, off road motorcycling and anything else we can get into. We spend a lot of time chauffeuring our children to soccer, basketball, baseball, piano and youth leadership activities depending on the season. We currently reside in Wake Forest.
I came to Cambridge Village for the opportunity to work with a team committed to creating an independent senior living community that provides an optimal living environment. We are more than just an apartment complex for seniors. We provide a comprehensive package that includes medical, wellness, dining and spa services in an amenity rich environment that feels like home.
I was raised in Clayton, NC, but moved around quite a bit when I was younger while my parents were in the U.S. Marine Corps. One of the biggest accomplishments of my life was graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2011. I began working in property management while in school and continued after I graduated. After 5 years of property management, I worked at an Assisted Living Community for 2 years before finally making it to Cambridge Village of Apex! The main reason I got into this industry was because I’ve always enjoyed helping others and I love meeting new people. I currently live in Fuquay-Varina with my 100 lb. dog Bailey and my 2-year-old daughter Olivia. I love to go shopping with my daughter, hiking, traveling and sitting on my back porch while reading a good book.
Katy Parfitt has been working at Cambridge since 2015 and is loving it. She was born and raised in Roulette PA, a tiny township in Potter County, near the Allegheny National Forest. Growing up in such a small town allowed her to be involved in many school clubs, activities, and sports, as well as church and volunteering. She went to Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, where she graduated with a B.S. in Biology, minoring in Fine Arts and pitching on the School’s Fast-Pitch Softball team. After graduating, she moved to Florida and began working as a naturalist with Audubon and other conservation organizations.
After a family move to Gainesville, FL she fell into an assistant activity director position for an Independent Senior Living Community and fell in love with Senior Activities. She has since worked in several communities coordinating activities for seniors and enjoys the family feel and making people happy and active. A move to North Carolina to be closer to family, has brought her to Raleigh, NC where she first worked as a naturalist and environmental educator with the City of Raleigh and Wake County Parks and Recreation Divisions. When the job at Cambridge opened up, she jumped at the opportunity and is so happy to be working with all the wonderful Residents and Staff here. She is looking forward to making more memories with the Cambridge Village of Apex Family in the years to come.”
Business Office Manager
I was born in Anchorage, Alaska and moved around to different states much of my childhood. My family moved to North Carolina in 1992 and I decided to “plant my roots” here. I married my husband, Randy, in 1995. We raised our boys in Wake Forest, where we still live today. I have an identical twin sister and two younger brothers. I enjoy scrap booking, exploring new towns and spending time with my family and sweet dog, Diesel.
My college degree is in Recreational Therapy, however, I spent almost twenty years of my career in the IT Services industry. When the opportunity to work at Cambridge Village opened, I was excited to accept the position of Business Office Manager. It is a pleasure to serve our residents and to be a small part of their lives.
I was born and raised in East Islip, New York. I attended Dowling College in Oakdale, New York where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education. While in college I started a part time job working in a school for children with Autism. I continued to work in that field for fourteen years. My last position held there was as Director of Education. My husband Paul then got a transfer to Florida and off we went with our three boys. We lived right outside Disney World for nine years until he got another transfer to North Carolina.
It was then that we moved again with our three boys (Cory, Nicholas and Joshua) and one daughter (Julianna) We have been in North Carolina for five years now and proud to call it home. I have been with Cambridge Village for more than two years now and feel so blessed to be considered family to our wonderful residents.
I grew up in New Bern, NC, then moved to the Triangle Area where I eventually graduated from NC State in 2013 with a B.S. in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, and a minor in Outdoor Leadership. My biggest accomplishment was completing a month long backpacking trip in the Cascade Mountains with the National Outdoor Leadership School. I’ll never forget the fulfillment achieved from climbing beautiful mountains, or the peacefulness from being miles away from civilization. Before I started at Cambridge Village I was the Assistant Director for St. Timothy’s After School Program, and a Zipline Course Instructor at Go Ape in Raleigh, NC. I have always had a passion for the outdoors, and for a while, I worked on the side guiding trips, teaching rock climbing, paddling, and teambuilding with the City of Raleigh’s Adventure Program. After I married my wife in 2015, I decided to pursue a different line of work and jumped aboard with the Activities Department at Cambridge Village. Whether it is leading a group of college students on their first backpacking trip, or seeing residents laugh and smile at Cambridge, I’m always thrilled to give someone a happy memory to take home with them. In my free time, I enjoy seeing live music, reading, playing guitar, and backpacking and traveling with my wife Hayden, and dog Charlie.
Hello! I am a North Carolina native who grew up right down the road from Apex. Fuquay-Varina is where I call home and is where I live today. I left for a few years to attend college at the University of North Carolina Wilmington and other than getting a degree in the sand and sun on the beach, I received my BA in Recreation Therapy with a minor in Psychology. I fell in love with working with seniors while interning in a hospital working with traumatic brain injury/stroke patients. In Wilmington I worked as a Licensed Recreation Therapist LRT/CTRS at a PACE program (program for all-inclusive care for the elderly) and I loved it, but I moved back to Fuquay in 2014 to be near family and my now fiancé. I came to Cambridge Village after working as an Activity Director in an Assisted Living Facility for 2 years and when the opportunity came up at Cambridge, I jumped on it and it was the best decision! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé, Lee, binge watching Netflix, traveling, exercising, being with friends, and making and selling jewelry. I am so glad to be here as your Resident Relations Coordinator. I have a passion for helping and am here to assist you with anything. From getting settled into your new home here, to coordinating care. Stop by my office at any time, even just to say hello!
My name is Leslie Kelly and I have been employed here at Cambridge Village of Apex for 5 years. My time away from work I love playing with my grandchildren and going to church. My hobbies are watching movies, eating, and listening to music.

I was born in West Virginia and moved to Chapel Hill NC in 1988. I really enjoy the south. I joined the Cambridge Team December 2016, and love it very much. I worked in the hospitality industry for over a decade before becoming a hairdresser. My hospitality career, and my cosmetology career come together when working with others to make them look and feel their best. In my free time I love to go to the beach, kayak, shop, cook and spend time with my daughter. My passion is working with others to help them look and feel their best.
